The John C Munro Hamilton International Airport opened in 1940 as Mount Hope Airport, which was primarily a Royal Canadian Air Force Base. At the end of the second World War the base closed and it’s conversion into a regional and international passenger airport began. It would host a series of connections to major Canadian cities and seasonal destinations and continues to do so today.
Situated in Mount Hope, 11km southwest of downtown Hamilton and 64km southwest of Toronto. The airport serves the city of Hamilton and the GTA, often acting as a reliever for Pearson. If you do live in the GTA and don’t want to deal with the larger Toronto Pearson International Airport, Hamilton might be a great option for you.
By the year 2000, WestJet expanded to Canada’s eastern region and Hamilton became the airlines eastern hub. And in 2017 Hamilton experienced an 80% increase in passengers to 600,000 and still remains one of Canada’s top domestic cargo airports.
At Toronto Airport Limo we have some of the best rates and a large fleet of cars to choose from. Once you book your flight, make sure you make your reservation. Getting you to the airport on time is our top priority.
