Toronto Events for Summer 2018

So you’ve come to Toronto for a vacation or maybe you live here and you’re having a stay-cation. Maybe you’re not sure what to do and need some tips. We have located a list of events and festivals happening in Toronto to help get you started. With so many festivals and events happening around the city, there’s going to be something that sparks your interest. Summer time in Toronto is all about having a unique experience and as much fun as possoble.

Being outside is also a major factor in Toronto, since this is when we have the best weather, there’s something for everyone. You can count on the city to offer up an activity for you, your family and friends. Plus if there isn’t a festival that you want to check out, there’s always the beach. Toronto has a few to try, there really is a lot to do in the city. But we’ll do a blog about the various beaches another time. Here are a few festivals to get you started and to give an idea of the city has to offer. 

Big on Bloor starts July 21st and ending on July 28th, with a Pedestrian Takeover from Dufferin to Lansdowne. This events goes from 12pm-12am Artsite x Bloordale. This festival features various art installations and projects, interactive performances, and a main stage with various musicians. 

If food is more your style then you must get yourself to the Toronto Food Truck Festival. It runs from August 3rd to the 6th and its worth the trip to Woodbine Park. This events benefits SickKids and last year they were able to raise $116,000 in donations. Admission is free and there will be a fantastic selection to food trucks to try. If you’re going to be in the city that weekend, get there and enjoy some good eats.

And finally we have to mention the CNE, one of the oldest and most famous festivals in Toronto and that runs from August 17th – September 3rd. The CNE was founded in 1879 as the Toronto Industrial Exhibition and has had the distinguished history as a showcase of the nation. The CNE has changed over the years and has become an annual tradition for many families. The festival includes things such as; food, concerts, rides, games, shopping, exhibits, and so much more.
