Travelling is fun! You’re visiting new places, seeing new things – who doesn’t like to go somewhere nice. However, we all know that trips can sometimes go wrong and in so many different ways. That’s why we’re going to list the main things every traveller should keep in mind. Let’s face it, the only other thing better than travel is.. stress free travel.
So here are some main points to consider that will in turn save you money, time and frustration.
1. Protect your information
Scammers are everywhere and they’re getting more sophisticated. It’s very important to protect your personal information at all times and be aware. Identity theft protection company will protect you against credit fraud and cyber-crime so speak with them. When using computers at the Internet cafes don’t save your info on them, log out, watch for auto-save and auto-complete forms, and using credit card over unsecured wireless connections.
2. Pack light
Don’t bring what you really don’t need. That means leave your other credit cards, checks, extra IDs, big purses and wallets, electronics, jewelry. If you don’t need it, bringing it only risks you loosing it. Plus you lighten your load and have less to carry around the airport.
3. Choose direct flights
Flight with stopover tend to make you spend more money because while you’re waiting for your connecting flights you have to eat, drink, entertain yourself, etc. It’s always a better idea to try and book a direct flight with less layover, so you can enjoy more time at the actual destination.
4. Watch your money
Use travel credit cards and some local currency, which you can order from your bank before you leave. It’s also advisable to contact your credit card company and let them know of you travel arrangements. Using ATMs at the airport is risky as some of them may have card readers and people who hover around to try and steal your PIN or mug you. So it’s best to inform yourself of ATM locations beforehand and use only those (mostly at the actual bank branches). Use your hands to block the view when entering your PIN in ATMs and make sure it’s located within a bank branch.
5. Confirm your reservations
Check your reservations twice so your vacation isn’t ruined by an overbooked hotel or rental car agency. Plans can change drastically and double checking that arrangements are intact and as planned is essentially. Its always best to book directly with the hotel or agency and eliminate the middleman.
6. Get travel insurance
Getting travel insurance is advisable because last thing you want is for something bad to happen and you’re stuck in a foreign country with no coverage, no money and no way of easily getting back. Getting travel medical insurance is really easy, you just answer few questions, when you flying and returning and that’s it. This was if something does happen to you while on the trip (like accidents, death, lost baggage, cancelled flight, terrorism) you’ll be taken care of.
7. Book a limo to/from the airport
Travelling to and from the airport can be a hassle and very stressful, especially if you’re exhausted form the trip. So what you could do is hire a limo to drive you to/from the airport. Often time airport limo service is fast, reliable, and affordable. Many people are surprised to find out that the actual cost was less than they expected.
So with some planning and preparation, you can avoid travel stress and get on with your vacation of fun and adventure without any unnecessary drama. If you have any additional tips or anything we missed, please be sure to leave a comment below.
